Know What to Expect Ahead of Time with Job Interview Sample Questions

There's no doubt about it -- the job market is incredibly competitive these days. When you apply for a job, you will most likely need to find a way to set yourself apart from numerous other applicants who are just as qualified if not more so than you are. The best way to make a good impression is by letting your personality and qualifications shine during the interview. Unfortunately, many people let their interview anxiety and lack of preparedness get in the way. You can avoid this by studying the following job interview sample questions and thinking about how you want to answer them if a potential employer asks:
Why did you apply for this position?
Why do you feel you are the best candidate for this position?
Describe your biggest strengths and weaknesses:
Why did you leave your last job?
Where do you want to be in five years?
Do you work well under pressure?
Do you prefer working in a team environment or alone?
Do you have any questions about this position or our company?
It may help to rehearse each answer with a friend or family member. You might even want to practice introducing yourself with a confident handshake. You don't want your interview answers to sound scripted, but you do want them to be accurate and intelligent. Rehearsing the answers a few times will ingrain them into your thinking, so that if you are asked you will be able to form a coherent and appropriate answer on the spot. Sure, there may be some questions that you aren't expecting. There may be some that you wish you would have answered differently after all is said and done. However, by reviewing some of the most popular interview questions and answers ahead of time, you can increase your chances of interviewing well.
You can use the job interview sample questions in this article as a basic guideline if you like, and modify the questions to better suit the job you are applying for. The more you learn and practice, the more comfortable you will become with the interview process. This is important because when you appear polished, professional and prepared during interviews, you increase your chances of landing a great job!
